Terms of service

These terms cover tryouty.app and the Outy app, run by Outy. By using either, or by listing a plan, you agree to them.

What Outy is

Outy shows people things to do across British Columbia, filtered by when they are free. The plans in the app come from Outy and from the businesses that list them.

The businesses behind each plan run it, not Outy. Hours, prices, perks and availability can change, so check with the place before you go. You attend plans and meetups at your own risk.

Listing a plan

When you submit a plan through tryouty.app, you confirm that:

  • you run the business, or are allowed to act for it;
  • the title, description, address, hours and perk are accurate;
  • you own the photo you upload, or have permission to use it, and you let Outy show it in the app and on the website;
  • you will honour any coupon or perk you list while the plan is live.

Free listings are read by a person before they go into the app. We may decline one without giving a reason.

Listing guidelines

We remove plans that:

  • are misleading, or describe something that does not exist;
  • promote anything illegal in British Columbia;
  • are hateful, sexually explicit, or target people for who they are;
  • use a photo or a name the business has no right to use;
  • fail to honour a listed perk after customers complain.

Paid placements

  • Featured, Top Rated and Most Visited placements sort your plan above unpromoted ones in the app and add a badge to its card.
  • Each tier has a fixed number of slots. A slot is yours from the start date to the end date you chose at checkout.
  • Prices are in Canadian dollars. You pay once, up front, for the whole term. Nothing renews automatically.
  • Payment is handled by Stripe. Your plan is only created after Stripe confirms the charge.
  • A placement improves where your plan appears. It does not guarantee a number of views, saves or customers.

Refunds follow our refund policy.

Removing plans

We can edit or remove any plan that breaks these terms. You can ask us to take your own plan down at any time by emailing hello@tryouty.app.

Liability

Outy is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Outy is not responsible for losses that come from a plan, a meetup, or a business listed in the app. If we are found responsible for a paid placement, our liability is limited to what you paid for it.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and the version in force when you paid applies to that placement.

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
