Privacy policy

You can browse tryouty.app without an account. The site has no analytics or advertising trackers.

If you use the light and dark switch, your choice is saved in your own browser. It is never sent to us.

When you list a plan, we collect:

• your name, your email, and your business name;
• the plan itself: title, description, category, address, map pin, days, photo and any perk;
• for paid placements, the tier, term and dates you chose.

The plan is public. Once it is live, everything in the plan is shown in the Outy app and may appear on this website. Your name and email are never shown. We use them only to contact you about your listing and your payment.

If you join the list for a sold-out tier, we keep your business name, email and note so we can tell you when a slot opens.

Card payments go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us whether the payment worked and gives us a payment reference, which we keep with your listing.

Only the services that run the site:

• Stripe, which processes payments;
• Supabase, which stores listings and photos;
• Vercel, which hosts the website;
• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim), which receives the address you type into the map search, so it can find the pin.

These services may store data outside Canada, including in the United States. We do not sell personal information.

We keep listing and payment records while your plan is live and for as long as tax and accounting rules require afterwards. Declined free submissions and waitlist entries are deleted on request.

Under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to us using it. Email hello@tryouty.app and we reply within 30 days.
